Celeste Garza

Celeste is a UCSF BMS graduate student rotating in the lab. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in Biology. At UTSA, she worked in Dr. Thomas Forsthuber's lab investigating immune cell effector functions and their contributions to autoimmunity. After graduation, she joined Dr. Mark Ansel's lab at UCSF as a junior specialist UCSF PROPEL fellow, where she investigated molecular regulation of cytokine expression in allergy mediated immune responses. In her rotation, she is using gene editing techniques to investigate the therapeutic applications of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) . Outside of lab, she likes to go on walks, explore coffee shops in the city and play with her cat, Willow.
